Message from our owner:
Hi! I'm Lisa Busch, the owner of 1 Stop Bead Shop. Nearly 10 years ago I started making jewelry and selling it at local craft shows and guiding make-it-and-take-it jewelry parties in local area homes. I soon discoverd that I could not get all the beads that I used in my designs consistently, if at all, in my local bead store. That's where the idea for 1 Stop Bead Shop formed - a shop where a beader could get EVERYTHING she or he needed. I've since discovered that's a pretty tall order - there are "gajillions" of beads! But, I keep ordering, and the store keeps growing.
We started with what we thought was a pretty large selection of the primary product lines - tools, books, semi-precious, Swarovski, Japaneese seed beads, Silver and gold filled beads, findings, wire, Czech glass, lampwork glass, etc. We're pleased that after 5 1/2 years our inventory is now 5 times larger, adding many new lines, and expanding all of the existing ones. In fact, we grew so big, that our original 1,200 sq ft location could not hold it all. We moved, after less than 3 years, to a bright, open 3,200 sq ft - plenty of space for our growing family of beaders.
My degree is in education, and I was already teaching beading, so it was natural to start teaching at the store. Beadweaving is my passion, but there are so many techniques for making jewelry. I knew I couldn't teach them all - I have a lot of energy, but not that much - so I went in search of other beaders who shared my passion for passing on their knowledge to others. Little did we imagine that 5 1/2 years later 1 Stop Bead Shop would have 26 instructors teaching nearly 100 classes a quarter! Your enthusiam for new and greater challenges continues to motivate us to bring you more exciting classes each quarter.
I also knew I wanted a really friendly, fun store. I envisioned the "Cheers of beading - a place where everybody knows your name!" We set up tables in the store, to encourage you to "Come Sit and Bead with Us!" And by golly, you did. We started a girl's night out called Club Bead, where I have watched friendships form and grow around our common love of beading. It's been a real blessing to watch my vision become a reality as we have created not just a store, but a community of beaders.
Whether you are new to beading or it's your claim to fame, we invite you to pull up a chair and start beading. You can take a class, plan a girl's night out or host your child's next birthday celebration in our private party room.
